Sailor. great nibs and classic styling.

I have this pen, it’s beautiful but heavy. To me it’s not a first pen, particularly with a stub. It would feel really weird to her if she’s only used ball points, gel or fine liners. 

My GFs first fountain pen. She says “it’s interesting…” but doesn’t quite seem sold on them yet.

Smooth Writing with a Little Feedback

I'm looking to gift myself a pen. One nice pen amongst all the cheap, fun ones I buy merely because they're pretty or because of nostalgia. I have no real requirements other than a nice, interesting writing experience (either because it's a flex/stub or because it writes beautifully, like a Parker 51, or whatever other reason), but I admit I'll start balking if the price climbs too high unless there's a good justification - I plan on using this pen, so something like a Namiki is out of the question since I'd be terrified to get those pieces of art dirty or drop it or lose it. I don't know what to choose, though, so I'm going to put it out there for opinions.

**If you could get one pen, one you would realistically use as an EDC, what would you choose and in what configuration?** For example, I might choose to go with a reissued Parker 51, but I'd get a steel nib instead of gold (I know I'm a heathen), and I'd go with a standard medium nib because that's what I associate with Parker.

In case it isn't obvious, it doesn't have to be an expensive pen (though it can be). At the moment, I'm actually leaning toward a TWSBI 580 in Prussian Blue with a stub nib - not a super expensive pen.

If you could only have one pen, what would you pick?

 In my first hand experience, the sailor gold nib is as good as you will get in a <$300 pen. If you want to get a converter (not included) and use bottled ink, I find Sailor converters much better than Pilot or Platinum. This review is for a fine nib, I already have a medium nib which is even smoother. I wanted a fine for business notes
