 Now they cover up to 650m2 home, they also are compatible with the Amazon Alexa device, so they will work with that and extremely easy to set up as I said before. Backed up by a 3 year warranty, let me just give you a very quick look at the box, you're not going to see much of it because it's a big box, but let me give you a quick look at the box. As you can see on the box here, it says WiFi 6 works with all broadband providers. Also I mentioned about the coverage, let me just show you this is such a big box to fit into frame, here it mentions we've got home care compatible with Amazon Alexa, the coverage up to 7000 square feet, 650m2 and then if we look on the back here, it just gives you an example of where you would place these within your home

 Now this works with pretty much all broadband providers, if for example and this is just an example you've got Virgin Media, you would put your modem router into modem only mode and then you would let these take over serving up the WiFi signal. There's little rubberised feet on the bottom, cylindrical design, this little area here obviously aids with some ventilation, we've also got some LED feedback on these as well and then on the back you've got an input for the power supply which is included inside the box and also two ethernet ports. We've got these as well, let me just show you these, so these are all identical as you can see, one of these would serve as your main router and the others would serve as two additional satellites. These really do help get rid of those WiFi dead zones, so for example in my tests where I would normally get some lower signal, I mean I've got a pretty good mesh WiFi system anyway, but there is one area where I would definitely get a lower WiFi signal and these really help to extend those, they've got a really good range, an exceptional range

This is a mesh WiFi system, full disclosure it was kindly sent in to me free of charge by TP-Link for this video, they haven't asked to pre-approve the content nor has any money exchanged hands for this video, I'm just going to share with you my honest opinion

And could get those at the same price (100€) but not sure what the difference is apart from Wi-Fi 6 but is that worth it going from 3 to 2 units?

I'm considering buying a budget mesh Wi-Fi system not sure what to pick

  I chatted with Deco Support to see why my phone wasn't getting WiFi 6 speeds. Nicole was fantastic and helpful on chat (during the early morning of a holiday!) She confirmed the Deco was set up properly, ISP speeds, and had me check Ethernet speeds of my PC. After like 35 minutes of chatting, it's down to either the Deco wireless speeds or my ISP. But the Deco app and Google Home apps both show that the ISP is fine and over 900 Mbps

Update #3: Success, FINALLY! Critical step to get this mesh system to work: Once installed, go to the Deco app -> Settings -> Advanced -> IPv6 -> Enable -> Reboot the Deco system  [Ignore the following step if you're setting up for the first time] Then, "Forget Network" on all your devices that had been on this Deco Mesh network, then re-add all your devices to Deco Network, then restart all your devices (unplug, wait 30-sec, plug in and restart.)  Lastly, confirm IPv6 is enabled in Deco app (same steps as above.) Check speeds with your phone or laptop using Speedtest or Fast(dot)com  The steps above finally resolved the random disconnects and slowness, including my slow connections for web TVs. The connection speed is at least 10x higher and Netflix loads much quicker and with HD or 4k resolution!  I was literally going to Factory Reset the Deco system and return it

 But, if your devices (PC, phone, tablets, etc) were before 2019, they may not support WiFi 6. So you'll never get the speed of 6 but you'll be able to connect lots of devices and it'll be better for future devices. Check your phone/PC specs for WiFi 6 and then go with a good WiFi mesh and save a little money, if they're from 2018 or earlier. My MS Surface Pro 6 doesn't get WiFi 6, so it'll never take full advantage of the Deco

IPv6 Setting Fixes Issues, not massively better than WiFi 5 Mesh

 This Deco mesh router system is a Wi-Fi 6 system. Why is Wi-Fi 6 important? Well Wi-Fi 6 does offer increased speeds over the previous generation of Wi-Fi where I've actually seen the biggest impact with Wi-Fi 6 router setups including the Deco is when you have multiple devices like a large number of them connected to your network simultaneously. I typically have anywhere from 40 to 50 devices on the network at any given time. With that amount of devices, I have noticed an increase in stability of overall network performance with my Wi-Fi 6 setup

 Alright, now let's talk about issues and downsides. The biggest issue I've had with this system is overall network performance. Initially, my Google Nest speakers would drop Wi-Fi connection at random and the upload speed on my iMac unexplicably dropped to 3 megabits per second where before while on my Nest Wi-Fi I was getting close to 10. I tried changing some of the settings on my router and I looked to the TP-Link forums to try to see if anyone else was running into the same issue I was and some people were but they didn't seem to have any resolutions at the time so eventually I just ended up getting two Eero routers because it was the pandemic and I needed Wi-Fi that worked and worked really reliably

 You can invite others in your household to help you manage the network and this is really useful if you're setting up the router system for a grandparent or a parent. It allows you to monitor the network remotely and help them troubleshoot issues. Alright, so those were some of the core features. Now let's talk about performance

Best wifi mesh router for homekit

 Performance. Excellent performance throughout the house with speed test over 800Mbps. 3. Very easy to install and configure

Problems with connectivity using Mesh setting

 But I'm doing this test where I do all my tests with all my other mesh wifi's to keep it consistent. But again, range varies. So just because I'm getting a certain range doesn't mean you're going to get it. Or if you're wondering, hey, my old 10-year-old router gets me 200 feet of range easily, well if your 10-year-old router is getting that, most likely this is going to get you much more than that

 So final thoughts, what do I think of this thing? Honestly, for the price, it's really, really good. The reason why is you get really good speeds, especially for dual band. You get really good range. You get an easy to use app

 And yeah, it's 100 to 240 volts so I guess it will work pretty much everywhere. And obviously the same thing, and yeah, it looks like it's just one ethernet cable from what I can tell. All right, let's set this up. All right, so a week has actually gone by since I've unboxed this thing, and the reason why I wanted to wait is to see if there were going to be any hiccups, any dropped connections or anything of that nature, and so far so good

TP-Link Deco X60 Unboxing and Review | Configurations, Speed Tests, Range Tests and More

I've had a quick search through this sub and couldn't quite find a post with this predicament, so posting in the hope for some good advice. 

The problem:
UK based, old 19th century house has been extended and extended over the years, so has quite a long footprint. 

One router does not cover whole house. 

Powerline adapters/extenders not an option as I've already tried this. The power cabling isn't up to it as a 75 mbps connection drops to 0.5-2.5 mbps on the other side. 

Currently I have the main router at front of house, a powerline  in the only socket that's ok towards the back of the house which is connected to a second router running as an AP. Although it has improved the WiFi in some areas, I'm still dealing with deadspots, unsurprisingly. 

 So, the current options I'm considering: 

Option 01 - Invest in proper wired ethernet and APs. This would mean paying someone to run ethernet lines to every room (two rooms on the ground floor, four rooms upstairs). I'd want to have both Ethernet ports and PoE cabling for APs. Obviously I'd also need switches, APs and time to get it all running myself. 

Option 02 - Just buy one of those no fuss wireless mesh systems - set and forget. 

My question is which one is cost effective? I've no idea what I should be looking at paying for either option. I'm not a pro network guy, but I've studied a bit. I've got Pi-Hole, PiVPN and  recently started playing with VMs. I run a Plex media server which I share with my parents and in-laws. Have thought about virtualising some of this stuff in a homelab with all bells and whistles but jeez... I'm on a budget. 

Any opinions would be most helpful at this time. Cheers!

Edit 1: Thanks for the advice, this has been really helpful. I&#39;ve decided to give the TP-Link Deco M5 a shot first, plus they were only £145 on offer. As we work on the house over the coming years, I&#39;ll look to wire up with ethernet if the mesh isn&#39;t Ideal. Plus point for the Deco M5 is being able to use the nodes as APs, so seems a sensible investment at this time.

Moved house recently and we need a solution for WiFi deadspots. Should I go all in and wire ethernet and APs through the whole house or go for an off the shelf wireless mesh system?

Recommended, with caveats

 The Deco X60 mesh system includes 3 Wi-Fi 6 units in a mesh Wi-Fi configuration for maximum performance and coverage up to 7000 sq. ft. According to TP-Link, it achieves unparalleled throughput with Wi-Fi 6 support for both clients and inter-node communications, up to 3000 Mbps across 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, yielding up to twice or more aggregate speed than a Wi-Fi 5 capable dual-band router

 So we are in a daisy chain configuration. In this test we are going to gain transfer close to 6GB file over Wi-Fi 6 backhaul connection. So as you can see we are getting close to 30MBps transfer speed. So the speed of the Wi-Fi backhaul dropped a little bit at the third satellite

 Now I am standing right next to third Deco unit. Here we have two floors and few walls between the main router and one floor and few walls between the second Wi-Fi router and third Deco unit. Here we still have 100% Wi-Fi signal strength with 100% Wi-Fi speed. Now we are going to do a Wi-Fi 6 backhaul speed test

 In this test we have our local NAS device connected to Deco Wi-Fi 6 router via Ethernet and our desktop is connected to second Deco Wi-Fi 6 router via Ethernet as well. In this test we are going to transfer close to 6GB of file over Wi-Fi 6 backhaul connection. So as you can see on the screen we are getting close to 40MBps transfer speed, which is not the best Wi-Fi 6 backhaul speed as compared to our previous Wi-Fi 6 reviews, but it is good for its price category. And just to remind everyone, the nicks on both router, satellite and desktops are 1GB nicks, so that is not the limiting factor here
