Asus ZenWiFi AX vs TP-Link AX1500

Have the Asus ZenWiFi AX mesh in our 2000 sq.ft., 2-story house, and no problems with 2 iPhones and 2 iPad Pro's. They're always connected, and the reliablity and wireless coverage of the mesh is great

Ive had very good luck with them and they have never let me down over the years. Cannot say the same about our previous Netgear, however, it wasn’t that bad.

At the very bottom of the screen are the Home, Devices, Insight, Family, and Settings buttons. The Devices button opens a screen where you’ll see a list of all of your network clients. Tap any client to view upload/download statistics, block internet access, and limit bandwidth availability for that client. Although I am not a TP Link user, I can say that using static IPs for my main HomeKit hub and every other smart home hub went a loooong way to alleviating the No Response issue.

- My PC is in a location far away from my home router, so I have a powerful wireless PCI-E adapter to get close to maxing out my gigabit internet on my PC. This is like the "worst case possible setup" with trying to get wireless to work with Quest 2: usually people have a hardline ethernet to their PC. Windows limits built-in hotspot to 20 MHz width, so trying to use the onboard Wi-Fi for Quest was no bueno. So, I looked into getting a dedicated router that is hooked up hardline to the PC directly, and only connects the Quest 2 as a wireless client

I get full speed (100%-120% of what I'm paying for) on the 5ghz wifi network everywhere in the house. I am using 400mbps internet and have no speed issues anywhere. The devices look great (I think they're asthetically pleasing and look like art). When people see the ASUS mesh device they don't think it is a router

If the node needs to be that close what's the point in having the note at all? If I could return this, I would. If you want a really robust router go away from home routers and find a commercial router. I've sent it logs and records all kinds of technical reports, and I'm getting so tired of this circular loop of tech support that I expect the warranty will expire before ever solve the problem. I think Asus a good brand overall, but but at a $400 price tag, this router is way too unreliable

Seriously though, save yourself the trouble, spend a few extra dollars and look into Netgear or Asus 802.11ax offerings.

I need to improve the wi-fi performance in my home. I have a three-storey house, with some brick/concrete walls which create dead spots. I cannot use powerline adapters (I have used some that were rated to 300mbps, but I rarely get more than 30mbps through them despite having 300mbps internet service to the property). I cannot wire ethernet cable, as it's just too difficult with all the brick and concrete and two flights of stairs - no partition/sheetrock walls or conduit makes it a huge pain

The issue : Every several minutes on VD, I get these awful spike lags that can last from a couple seconds to a full minute (or until I do something like back out of the game). It seems to be slightly worse on Air Link, though I haven't tried Air Link extensively enough.

Is it worth the money compared to others? Probably not. I paid the premium for the 6g backhaul channel since I'm not able to run ethernet. Probably would have sufficed to have gotten the XT8 and been just as happy. But, I figured that since I live in a highly populated apartment building, why not future proof a bit and see if connectivity is superior
