The DJI Air 2S is our top pick for most drone users. It strikes a great balance between features and price, and in some cases outperforms much more expensive models. Its small size makes it good for travel, yet it's intuitive enough for anyone to fly.
Most notably, the Air 2S includes a camera with a 1"-type sensor, a feature previously reserved for models costing hundreds of dollars more. It captures 5.4K/30p video and 20MP photos in Raw or JPEG format, and DJI's Smartphoto feature uses computational photography techniques to deliver very high quality images. If the idea of racing drones at top speeds appeals to you, the Hubsan X4 H107C is an inexpensive way to get started.

Hubsan X4 was the quad I started from years ago, and it was perfect for a kid - simple control, inexpensive, and lots of fun. 

I have all the FPV gear myself, and they fly my whoops sometimes. But I can't just let them use it, I have to supervise it - the goggles are expensive and fragile, the transmitter is huge and complicated, and the batteries are quite expensive and they run them to zero every time.

 I understand that some people got sent the regular SD cam model, so make sure when you receive yours that it says HD Camera on the package (shouldn't be a problem). I believe that the regular SD camera model is about $60 at the time of me writing this, and the HD model is abouy $80, both with Prime shipping. So, the difference is about $20, and you have to decide for yourself whether or not you think the better camera is worth $20. For me, it was

  Now, let's move onto flying the thing, which is the fun part! I have no experience with RC flying, so I have nothing to compare to. To me, it was difficult on the first few tries. First, I made sure to calibrate the X4, as per the instruction manual. If your unit doesn't have an instruction manual, google it, or look it up on Youtube

I love this little Quadcopter. I received the SD version of the X4 as a Christmas gift from my girlfriend's niece. That was a great things that she thought I might enjoy this, because I can tell you that I've never had any real interest in RC flying, and there's no way that I would have gotten one of these on my own. I'm in my late forties, but I've got to tell you that playing with this "toy" makes me feel like a kid

This tiny quadcopter is well designed and reasonably sturdy. The controls take getting used to - it's nothing like driving a car. Fun... and a Very Good Value, Too

 I have one that has been taped for dozens of flights.  I wouldn't buy:  Crash Pack - It's $20 and the only things you're likely to use are the prop blades and battery. I can't imagine needing a new body unless yours gets run over and then it's a whole lot easier to just sell the scraps on Ebay and buy a new X4.  Do not buy the $7 "tool" that pries the props off

 It's significantly larger in size (easier to see) but not much heavier (less damage when you hit something). The X5C-1 also has incremental performance levels so you can tame it down or hot it up if you want.  The JJRC H8C is similar and very easy to fly in 25% mode but bumped up to 75% or 100% it performs very well. It's also larger but still light and the four sides have strips of LEDs that are quite visible

  When you have an incidental landing but everything looks OK, be sure to push the battery all the way back in before you give it another try. The battery being part way out can really screw up the center of gravity and your Valium frog may only get one hop.  Mark one side of the connectors on the batteries, chargers, and X4 with permanent marker. The little tab that can only go one way is really hard to see

Surprisingly stable and easy to fly

..Plus they have shorter flying time. Look for the Tenergy ones as they are consistently good and ship way quicker

..The range on this quad is further than you can see it so be careful as it can get away from you! I painted the front of the prop guard white to enhance the visual of the front of the quad as the lights are on top instead of the bottom where they should be since you typically fly above your head. I read on another review where someone inverted the lights around so they point down but it took some careful re-routing

 You will ultimately have to learn how to do minor repairs though as even though it is pretty durable it will require repairs from time to time. My battery connection wires were soldered under the circuit board instead of on top making them venerable to damage when putting the battery in and out. One broke off and I had to very carefully solder it back. I then epoxied the wires to the inside of the top of the cover so they can't be accidentally pulled out again and the battery now rubs against the epoxy instead of the wires which are kind of weak to begin with

 The camera quality is a little lower quality, but definitely HD and looks really good. The blades are out of the picture. It records the faintest audio which contains the buzzing blades most times. I was also unsure about the size, but it's actually really cool having something so portable

 now that being said i bought 5 extra battery's also the crash kit and the extra ring... now on the controller you will need 4 AAA battery's i am new to this so i don't take it up high and don't panic when the wind blows it off course a little

i did tsake it up to about 50 ft and coming down it shook cause it was windy but still very easy to use under little wind cond

 My only con I could find is that it's quite noisy. We have a friend with one and his is a lot quieter but that also might be because his is smaller too. His could also flip sideways and backwards too - I'm guessing this guy doesn't but it's okay.

So far everything has worked out great with the quadcopter
