Jinhao X450

Wow, the amount of detail and precision you can get is amazing. I know to those who own a loupe this is a no brainer, but to any collector, hobbyist, writer, enjoyer, or tinker-er it is a powerful tool to turn a mediocre pen into a stellar writer. I had pens which I had no idea were misaligned set back to the way they should and can actually feel a difference (particularly a Lamy Vista and Jinhao x450).

That the Jinhao X450, however cheap it may be, is not worth it if you think you are going to write with it a lot for more than 6 months. The snap cap loosens up really quickly, the grip paint peels off, it can hurt your middle finger when the pen rests on it, and the gold plated trims damage very easily.

These can have cap issues, they will loosen up until the cap falls off. The X450 is a pretty nice pen-has a section that is scalloped in three shallow spots that works well for gripping, has a #6 nib.

I have 2 Jinhaos- an X450 and an X750. The X450 is a nice pen and an excellent value- Fit and finish are good, and its performance is reliable.
