Elite - this name is a monument. Probably, the most famous one is "Elite S". In around 1970, "Elite S" became very popular with the TV commercial. "Happa Fumi Fumi"... this marvelous word is it. Of course, function based on the concept is wonderful. "Elite 95s" is inherited the gene. 

Features - "make sense" 
The most common feature is the length. Almost all, this series are short. The length is controllable - this thought is very reasonable. When you don't use, it is pocketable. For this purpose, this pen adapt "spigot joint" mechanism. Not need to turn, also not sound. And the shape is excellent. Especially the streamline shape of nib is very cool. This beautiful streamline - it's like the future vehicle. This black body with gold accent remind limousine. Exclusive driver is you. Of course, the space you stop is problem. Please continue to run, run, run (When you write, length@is long...very, very).

 It’s a very classy and elegant looking pen. The fine nib writes beautifully and the capping mechanism is simply sublime. I bought it through Amazon for less than $100, which, for a 14k gold nib with a very unique looking pen, is a bargain in my mind.

Depending on where you buy this pen, it may or may not come with a CON-40 cartridge converter. This particular purchase did not come with a cartridge converter, but with a Pilot branded black ink cartridge. This wasn't a problem since I have a few CON-40 converters handy. But if you do use a CON-40, there is a downside to it: because the CON-40 is so small

What are some of your favorite entry level gold nibbed pens and why? Preference is to drop some nice fine lines.

(Although I hear very good things about the LAMY 2000, the style is just not for me)

A good daily-use or travel pen.

Hi, I'm turning 21 in a couple of months and as I've been collecting for just over a year (started with a Lamy Safari, you know the rest!), I'm asking my family for a really nice pen (because what else would I want?). My current list of possibilities is Lamy 2000, Pilot capless or Esterbrook Estie, all around £150 ish. If anyone has any thoughts on that list, or an other suggestions around that price I'd really appreciate the community's help!

Also, if anyone knows any shops where I can try pens in or around Nottingham, that would be great!

Advice for my first expensive pen

Versatile Fountain Pen

Next level (under $100) - Pilot Elite 95s - I have both F and EF - superb in every way. Moderate (under $150) - Pilot Custom Heritage 92 - does everything well. A step up (under $300) - Pilot Custom 823 - great nib, the filling system, hard to beat this pen at any price. Pricey (up to $700 or so) - Pelikan Souverän M1000 Green - beautiful pen, fabulous nib

Favorite Fountain Pens?

 Things like that which would not be an issue if you bought it from a reputable dealer in the US. There's a little bit of a gamble involved by buying an expensive pen from a vendor outside of the country in which you live. (Some fountain pen enthusiasts wouldn't consider this an "expensive pen" but I'm not rich so the price difference was the deal maker for me, you may not see things the same way.)  If any of that is a problem for you, and if that problem and risk isn't fully offset by the price difference, then you should buy from an American shop like "gouletpens dot com" because they will do the full range of customer service for you without hesitation

This is a very, very nice pen made even nicer by the fact that the price is about half what you'd pay for it in a shop.  This comes from Japan, which is why it's cheaper than you can get it in the US. I'm not going to go into all of the reasons for that but this is what you'd pay for it if you were standing in a shop in Japan spending US Dollars that had been exchanged for local currency. This isn't coming directly from Pilot, at least mine didn't
