6, it goes away quite quickly. Overall, testing out this new Tamon lens was a delightful experience. Its consistently high sharpness and beautiful bokeh, as well as its close focus distance, makes it a creative and versatile zoom lens that lets you capture some beautiful images. It's a very nice improvement over its predecessor in a number of different ways, and at $900 US dollars, it's expensive but still good value for money, so I've no hesitation at all in saying that this one comes highly recommended

 It feels much more solid and smoother to touch. It doesn't feel too heavy on your camera either, weighing just over half a kilogram or a little under two pounds. The metallic rear lens mount is surrounded by a weather sealing gasket. Also towards the rear there's a USB-C port for firmware updates, and that is followed by a plastic manual focus ring, which turns very smoothly and cooperates with the focus motor very responsively

I'm coming up on my 50th, and as a treat to myself, I am thinking of trading in my Sony 24-70 ZA f4. While it has served me well the last little bit, I feel I can probably get something better for my A7III. I have the Sony 70-200 f4 OSS and I love the sharpness of the photos that I get from it, and want something equivalent in the standard zoom range. I am looking at the usual suspects in this category and I will include the prices from my local retailer in Vancouver, Kerrisdale Cameras.

Both the Sigma's are on sale till November 23rd. I am leaning towards the Sigma, only due to the build quality, but I have also heard there is nothing to worry about with the Tamron. And if YouTube is correct, the dust worry with the Sigma 24-70 has been fixed in the newest batch of them.

Opinions on Standard Zoom f2.8

Decent lens should've got the sigma

 So of course, I went out shooting both video and photos to give you a hands-on practical look at what using this lens might be like. I hiked through snow up to my thighs, over some questionable ice, and into a cave of frozen wonders, all to make an example video for you so that you could see the quality of this lens. After that video, we'll come back, take a look at some photos, talk about some features, build, image quality, and my experience using this lens. But real quick before the video example, I want to tell you about this video's sponsor and the pants that I was wearing when I went for that trek through the snow, Dewar

 So in this video, you may notice that I'm just wearing a pair of black jeans, hiking in the snow. And you might think, why would he do that? Well, these are the fireside jeans from Dewar's Winter Denim line, and they are fleece-lined, they have limitless stretch, reinforced seams, and a water-resistant DWR treatment. So basically, they look like nice black jeans, but they're built to last, to keep me warm, to keep me dry, and to flex for when I'm moving around a lot, like when I'm hiking to a cave. Dewar seriously has the most comfortable pants

 Well, okay, it's $20 more expensive than the original from $879 now up to $899 for the G2, but pretty much the same price. And after seeing how awesome the new Tamron 35-150mm was, I was really excited to see if this lens held up to the performance that we saw there. So of course, I went out shooting both video and photos to give you a hands-on practical look at what using this lens might be like.  The general color and contrast has a really nice pleasing look to it. The sharpness feels great in both the center and the edges at any focal length that I shot at. There was a little bit of chromatic aberration, but it was only in really extreme cases and generally only got strong when I started to push the edit. The images look great wide for some more landscape type shots, and they also look great at the long end for some more portrait type shots, so we've got a nice, consistent, great looking image

They Made HUGE UPGRADES! A Hands-On, Practical Review Of The New Tamron 28-75mm F2.8 VXD G2 For Sony

I've been using the Sony a6500 for a little over 2 years and the camera has served me really really well. I've had event videos a few client photo shoots and I've used it to build my YouTube channel to almost 30,000 subscribers but at this point it kind of seems like the writing is on the wall for Sony.

I was hoping that the a6600 would bring a new sensor to their aps-c lineup but it seems like they are now pushing all on budget full frame. From the FX line to the A7C it seems like they are not going to be offering much in the way of prosumer apsc bodies anymore which is a shame now that we have the Sony 16-50, Tamron 17-70 and sigma 18-50. 

I have the sigma trio along with the Samyang 12mm and Sony 85mm but having to use primes to get the subject separation is kind of a pain in the ass, especially with changing lenses in the field/dust/etc. I'll probably end up selling my primes (outside of the 85 since it's ff) and picking up the Tamron 17-28 and sigma 28-70 and using them on aps-c for the next 6-8 months than buy the a7siii for photo and video.

Anyone else in the same/similar position have have thoughts/experience they'd like to share.

Transitioning From Primes To Zooms &amp; APSC To Full Frame

 If you don't want to spend an arm and a leg for the G Master, this lens is definitely worth the bucks.

The only thing about this lens is its build quality. Don't really like the plastic feel and you can also see the line where the plastic has been molded. It might not be the prettiest lens, but it can take the prettiest photos. This has been my main lens for months now and I have been loving it

 But now we have the second version of this lens now with a faster focusing motor and new optical design. Let's see if it improves on some of the weaknesses of the original lens and just how it does overall. Does this count as a puddle? Now one of the great things about the older Tamron 28-75 was that again it was an f2.8 zoom but incredibly lightweight and compact

 Everything still feels solid and tight, very similar kind of hood. I do like that we still have that 67mm filter thread as well. It's great that Tamron keeps that consistent throughout their lineup. Now this is a Tamron 28-70 VXD, their voice coil linear motor system as opposed to the stepping motor that we had in our RXD version

 This is very much on par with the older lens if anything it's just slightly better. But the real improvement on the newer lens is the corners because as you now look here wide open in the corners at 28mm it's better. It's definitely still going to benefit from stopping down as you can see here but already it's better sharpness. And then we look at the 75 it's the same story in the corners wide open or when we stop down

 Now you've got to remember that the original 28-75, we looked at this almost three years to the day and it has become one of the best selling lenses you will find on the market and rightfully so. It's flare characteristics, it's bokeh, that left something to be desired but it was compact, lightweight and sharp. But now we have the second version of this lens now with a faster focusing motor and new optical design. Let's see if it improves on some of the weaknesses of the original lens and just how it does overall

Hello everyone, I recently got the itch to buy a new camera. Been doing soo much research and have invested hours of watching videos and searching google and Reddit. I think I have come to a decision that I will buy the Tamron 17-28 but would like some justification and to hear from some of y’all before jumping the gun. 

I live in Europe and like doing vlogs on all my trips that i do. For memories and to share with friends and family back state side. My trips consist on visiting cities and also visiting a lot of nature sites. 

I’m having a lot of FOMO when thinking about the abilities that the 28-75 tamron can do. Or even the kit lens. 

Anyone who has the 17-28, how do you like it. I’m by no means a professional vlogger so I don’t want to get that lens if that’s all I’m going to be able to do with it. I want to get some nice pics. 

I’m coming from a Canon T6 Rebel. Sold it and 3 lenses I had last week to find this new adventure. I still have a Samyang MF 14mm and a Canon Macro 100mm 2.8 USM (non L) should I keep these and get a budget adapter? 

TLDR: I like to vlog and take pictures on my trips. Should I get a 17-28 tamron or a 28-75 tamron? Thanks everyone! Hope this post can ease my mind a bit.

Buying a Sony A7C, help me choose a lens

Excellent image quality, I like the build - is plastic but feels very solid almost metal like feel. Update: Had to return my sample, first time used in field and two of 4 screws holding the locking ring got pulled out - I did not notice till I got home and as a result pictures were out of focus. Hope this is just my sample as I really want a good one to own.
