Pilot is my favorite brand but and I really like my decimo but if you’re looking price and quality check out the pilot kakuno! It isn’t super flashy but I use one with a con-70 converter as one of my edc (along with a pilot custom heritage 912 with a PO nib, Lamy safari ef, and Sailor cosmos ef).

So I've been looking into fountain pens for a while now and have decided that as a graduation present I want to get myself a good one. Currently, I use one of the BIC disposable blue fountain pens however, it does not write as smooth as my go-to Pentel Energel and sometimes rips? or slightly tears at the paper. So I don't really use the fountain pen anymore.

I don't really want to spend too much if I don't have to. Especially since it'll be my first nice fountain pen but at the same time, I want it to be as comfortable as possible as I want to use it as often as possible. The paper I currently use is the Kokuyo Campus Paper / Muji Paper. I've never used an ink bottle or converter situation before. I use tape tipex and highlighters a lot. Oh and I'm in the UK so I'll be ordering from Cult Pens.

So I'm looking for some advice as to PEN and INK. These are the pens I've been looking into:

* Kaweco Collection Fountain Pen Light Lavender / Fine
* Sailor Shikiori Tsukuyo-no-Minamo Fountain Pen Pink Yozakura / Fine

I think it&#39;s the disposable that&#39;s riping it. I just found 2 Parker Vectors + 2 Parker Jotters and the paper is fine.

I also found some Lamy ink so I think at one point I owned one. I was obsessed as a teen with fountains so I&#39;m hoping I can find the Lamy.

I need help choosing a fountain pen :)

I am a pen snob. My obsession began at a young age when I didn’t like my markers leaking on certain papers, or didn’t like how the tip glided over the paper. I love a extra fine tip! I used to loved the Pilot Razer tip pens. Then I switched to micron 

Best Pen I’ve Ever Used period

  I try to choose a pen that (1) isn’t irreplaceable, (2) can be sanitized, (3) fine or extra fine point (better for writing on crappy paper), (4) retractable or good click cap, and posts well, (5) reliable un-messy writer.  My regular rotation tends to be Pilot VP Decimo, Pilot Cavalier, Waterman Hemisphere, Schon DSGN Pocket 6, TWSBI mini 580.  The last two have screw caps, not click caps, but with super smooth threads that are pretty quick and easy to operate.

I really enjoyed using fountain pens when I was a student and now I am trying to find an EDC pen to use at work so that I can find fleeting moments of joy the few times that I get to write something. I currently work in a retail store doing more tech-related services with clients. Not much writing is done except for signatures, cross-outs on forms, and occasional post-it notes. Due to this, I am struggling to find a pen that fits my aesthetic, a reasonable budget (don't want to cry if it gets lost, $20-100), and whether a fountain pen would be ideal for this type of scenario instead of maybe a rollerball. So, I am here now curious to know what you would do in my situation, but also what your scenarios are.

My current 2 fountain pens are a black Pilot Metropolitan (F) and a Faber-Castell Essentio (F) in the satin finish. The Pilot grip section is a bit too narrow but was more comfortable writing with. I do really like the Faber-Castell aesthetically, but posting is not secure and it&#39;s back heavy even when not posted. The Pilot is what I used for note-taking in class, then I would use the Faber-Castell for shorter notes when at home.

My only quibble on full five stars is the price. These pens aren’t cheap. At over $100, I expect them to last the rest of my life, so we’ll see

 The differences between the Vanishing Point are small but may be of import to some people. It is of less girt and lighter weight than the Vanishing Point. Other than that the internal nib, feed and ink reservoir are identical. I like how light it feels in the hand but it also feels less durable than the Vanishing Point

 Completely disappointed.  The pen is great and long lasting, I was just really upset by the pricing and shipping quality. Will not be buying from this seller again.

For gel pens, I hold pilot G2 and pentel energel in high regards. The standard pentel is a little flimsy and I definitely prefer the body of the pilot G2, but both are great writers. And the best thing is, the refills fit in a bunch of other pen bodies! I think pentel specifically sells better pen bodies. The pilot G2 refill can be modified to fit into Lamy rollerball pens, which I really want to try out some time

 Second thing you have to look out for is grip. Do you grip your pen very tightly? If so, why? Pens with large diameter seem to work really well in that regard for some people. 

I'd say gel pens or fountain pens are the way to go for you. Both require little to no pressure to write so that has the potential to reduce cramps significantly. My goal wouldn't be to write neatly, but rather just to write down the massive amount of information I get very fast, without my hand cramping

So maybe if choosing the right pen, this information would be very important

What kind of pen should I use if I have to write lots of notes during a lecture?

TL;DR - looking for an all metal pen that takes **Pilot G2** refills and looks as professional and sleek as a Parker Jotter. 

My perfect ink/cartridge is Pilot G2 0.38mm. I’ve tried tons of others, fountain pens, space pens, but always come back to the G2. 

 Apparently there was no consistency from my 1st purchase to the 2nd purchase, and 3 out of 12 is terrible to invest in considering the price.

This is based upon my last purchase; very dissatisfied. I am a HUGE fan of G2 pilot pens (0.7 specifically) however this last haul there was a total of 3 out of 12 that functioned properly. The rest, the ink would not roll off smoothly and appeared completely dried out
